What you experienced is standard operating procedure with Sears these days. They employ unskilled people who behave like robots and cannot and will not go the extra yard to make the customer satisfied. They try to compete with other big box stores like Brandsmart by carrying so many products that their own staff does not know what they are selling. Their customer service is outsourced and nobody will help you. I had a similar experience and finally decided to sue them - the case is still pending.
