Sent to a friend[916] Sears Roebuck Co Elite refrigerator - Does NOT honor warranty
We purchased a Sears Elite refrigerator - freezer in November 2007. Six months later it broke ( there is a one year warranty). A service technician came to fix it and determined that the problem was not repairable. We were given a case number and told to call One Source, Sears' customer service center. They told us that the model had been altered and the new comparable model was $800 more and we had to pay the difference or they could not do anything. We have tried to resolve this problem for two weeks and keep getting a run around. We are never able to follow up with the same person and have to start over with someone new who refuses to assist and then drops the ball.Posted 2 months ago

- What you experienced is standard operating procedure with Sears these days. They employ unskilled people who behave like robots and cannot and will not go the extra yard to make the customer satisfied. They try to compete with other big box stores like Brandsmart by carrying so many products that their own staff does not know what they are selling. Their customer service is outsourced and nobody will help you. I had a similar experience and finally decided to sue them - the case is still pending.

Posted 2 months agoReport - BBB isn't going to do anything. As a matter of fact, Companies don't care anymore about BBB complaints. BBB complaints can't be read or anything by others. Word of mouth goes a long way in peoples mind. A Complaint about sears here willl go further than at the BBB.
Honestly, Where is this sears located? - Who runs this sears? - Add these things to this complaint and they'll probably contact you begging you to have your refrig. repaired. Better yet, call them and tape them (check with local laws for your state first) But ask them about your refridge and it's warranty. Then tell them you don't wont another refridge - you just expect them to fulfill their agreement on the one you got. Record their answers and post it on the internet. See how long it takes them to change their mind =)

Posted 2 months agoReport - Sears has a customer service department called One Source - it is staffed by incompetent people who could care less and do not have to answer to anyone above them. I am not sure what Sears is thinking but if their intention is to torture their customers, One Source is the ticket! If you ever get this resolved, take your business elsewhere. Sears is no longer in the customer satisfaction business.
Posted 2 months agoReport - Bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer ($1688) from Sears on May 13, 2008. Washer vibration is beyond belief. This is even how a "technician" from Sears described it. He said the front loader only has 3 shocks on the motor & all of them have 4 shocks. Today is July 7, 2008 and I still do not have a new washer. No one seems to know what they are doing. Must say the only ones trying to help me are women. The men are idiots and treat me like I am less than human. New washer was delivered on July 1 but it was damaged. Supposed to deliver one today but no one showed up. Where do we turn next? I have notes on all of the calls and it is starting to look like a novel with no results. Can anyone help? Better Business Bureau is a joke.

Posted 4 weeks agoReport - Bought a refrigerator in Yorktown, NY delivery date 8/7/07. Refrigerator went down on the 29th, came back to life and lived to 8-30-08= called on my 3 yr warranty, cannot come before 9-15-08, Answer from the protection agreement dept said to use a camp cooler for two weeks- imagine that. I takes the wind right out of your sails- I could have done just as well with some one on the street. naturaly I won't get to the CEO tomorrow, Monday but I will try. Has anyone ever taken them to small calaims court? RPV. in Buchanan, NY.
