Posted 2 years agoReport - Digital River charged my business account debit card 29.99; I have not purchased or ordered anything on that card. The bank says they cannot stop the charge from clearing my account; I can only contest the charge after it clears. I immediately cancelled that bank card because obviously they have my card number & could clean me out if they wanted to. I'm waiting for the charge to clear so I can contest it.

Posted 2 years agoReport - I just found a charge for 39.99 for DRI*digitalriver.com - have NO idea what it is for. It is still on hold, but I was told I have to let it be posted and deducted from my account. I'm on hold right now, waiting for the fraud department at my bank, to find out what I can do to make sure there are no more fraudulent charges.
Posted 2 years agoReport - they just took 2 charges from me. one for 59.99 and another for 69.98. i had to cancel my debit card and wait for it to post before i can dispute it. they say it is Norton Anti virus scam....

Posted 2 years agoReport - My acct this morning showed 3 separate charges for $143.07. Luckily my bank (Bank of America) caught it before we did and ANY CHARGES (whether they were from digitalriver or not) were credited back into the account, and our account was placed on lockdown. We didn't even realize this until my husband went to get gas this morning, and the card was declined.
Posted 2 years agoReport - I received a call from the agency that monitors charges for my Credit Union yesterday wanting me to verify charges to digitalriver. I didn't accept the charges in the amount of $143.00. I have no idea who these people are! We all must have been on the same link for them to get this info. We know shut down our computer at night and turn of the modem.

Posted 2 years agoReport - Today the same this happne to me they tried to take $1,900.53 my bank caught it and the fraud dept from my bank called me said that the tranaction has been declined. Another comapny the same day called NCsoft.com did take 49.99 for some arcade game I disputed that chared too, both charges happen at 5:30 am I had to have my card canc and the bank refunded my money. This company and the other one I mention which has just as many complaints NEED TO BE STOPED!!!!!!

Posted 2 years agoReport - My acct. showed 4 charges from digitariver. Three were for $178 and the other was for $1. Thank goodness my bank caught the big charges, but the dollar one did go through. I had to cancel my card and got a new one. I was not going to worry about the $1 one, since it was just a dollar, but one of the represenatives from my back told me I should. So they can go after the thiefs, and to make sure they dont try and do it again. I am very thankful that everything worked out for me, and they didnt wipe out my acct.

Posted 2 years agoReport - I had a charge pending in my bank account of $137.90 from DRI digital river. I cancelled my debit card straight away, As I didn't know who this co. was. I subsequently worked out that that anti virus subscription I purchased from Trend Micro added up to the same amount, which was already taken out of my account. I also found out that Trend Micro outsources to this co. It seems that DRI digital river is trying to charge me twice for the same product. I Have sent Trend a complaint email. Will wait for a response. meanwhile my bank says it may take up to 45 days for me to access my money.

Posted 2 years agoReport - I purchased conversion software (PDF to TIFF) and it was downloaded; charged 29.95 to my credit card. When I first ran it, a message appeared saying that I had the 'free' version and I would have to upgrade (at further cost) to get a working version. I've put the charge in dispute - Chase Card Services. Chase put me on hold for a couple of minutes. Upon return, I was told my account would be credited and that they were going to do 'something similar' to a chargeback .
I have the feeling that while I was on hold, they were investigating all the circumstances, including who the vendor was. I'll be bugging Chase if I don't see the credit at some point.
Posted 2 years agoReport - It seems that everyone on the board has had the same problem. I was double checking my accounts today and I found a charge of 44.95. For my Trend renewal which I renewed in
December. I'll try the phone number on Monday.
Posted 2 years agoReport - I had three charges of $134.94 try to post to my account immediately following a purchase at Amazon. Luckily, BofA halted them, as they are familiar with the Digital River company. I've always felt safe ordering from Amazon, but no more :(
Posted 2 years agoReport - I just found this site as I searched for digital river.
I am in Australia and discovered from an email from Paypal that 3 transactions for US$29.76 were charged thru Paypal apparently using my credit card on March 8 2010. Of course, I did not authorized these at all.
Paypal is pretty useless when it comes to resolving problems, but I have reported this scam. Their advice is to contact my bank re the credit card.
The purchase was reported as Digital River USD GMBH. The item was listed as WWW ELEMENTS.INFO with 3 different order numbers.
I am watching to see if the credit card is used again illegally. If so, I will cancel it immediately. In Paypal, I changed my password, so hopefully this will block further attempts to use the account.
I hope you all have your problems resolved soon.

With the information I had from Paypal i.e. The place of purchase and the references for the order etc. I contacted the Digital River website and asked for a copy of the invoice. After many emails back and forth each signed by a different person, I received the following:
"We have pulled the information about 3 orders in the same day. It will lead to fraudulent issue. (They confirmed who placed the order and what is was for) Please let us know if you would like a refund."
I said yes.
So, persistance pays. I hope they report the person involved to the police,
but as I live in Australia and the fraudster lives in USA, I will leave it to them.
Posted 2 years agoReport - I just got off the phone with my bank. DRI*Digitalriver.com charged two $155.89 to my debit card. Obvious fraud. I don't know this company and have never done business with them.
Posted 2 years agoReport - I just had digital river try to charge 59.06 ten times on my card. I have not purchased anything for that amout nor would i do it 10 times. fortunately my bank caught it and is reversing the charges. They will be doing a fraud investigation!!!
Posted 1 year agoReport - I had the same charge on my paypal account. I backed tracked and discovered it was because I had purchased a licensed copy of AVAST Anti-virus for my laptop. I used PayPal so I should be good, but I will wait and see what happens.

Posted 1 year agoReport - I noticed a charge on my PayPal account for $19.95 from Digital River that I don't know what it is for? I e-mailed them and asked but they never bothered answering me back, go figure. I clicked on a link that said you could get an answer to your question but found out it would cost me $18 to $58 dollars to get an answer from their Digital River expert...get real!
Posted 1 year agoReport - I bought an upgrade for ROXIO TOAST TITANIUM 10 and had two amounts put onto my card account. One for Sonic Digital (ROXIO) and one charge from DRIDIGITALRIVER. This last charge is STILL hanging on 8 days after paying ROXIO.
Cannot get ANY satisfaction from ROXIO by email (24+ emails) - they expect me to 'phone international number even though I live in Australia!!!!!!
ROXIO also expects my Building Society to take care of having this "Pre-purchase charge" removed. WHAT?????????? ROXIO obviously sanctioned DRIDIGITALRIVER to do this for them so THEY are responsible. My card was cancelled as soon as I saw this charge but still I have NO joy since 7 Oct 2010. Cazz from OZ

Posted 1 year agoReport - why has no legal action been taking against this company? I had an unauthorized charge of $81.90 show up on my chase debit card. Called chase and they canceled the card. Never heard of, nor bought anything from this company or those it processes for. After canceling my debit card, the next day, two more charges show up (before the card was "dead") totaling $81.90

Posted 7 months agoReport - I was going through all my paypal reciets and came upon one for this company for 49.95 dollars. I canciled my card because of this. they did this to me back in dec 2010. I will be paying more attention to my transactions.
