[2144] Harbor Breeze Cambridge ceiling fan model CM54RBZ5CRS from Lowes - NO SPECS

I purchased a Harbor Breeze Cambridge ceiling fan model CM54RBZ5CRS from Lowes and was assured it would fit my 8 foot ceilings. Well, it did not and now they won't take it back. $300.00 down the drain. They claim it's a special order but did not have the specs/size of the item, no box. The individual claimed she called the mfg and was told it would fit just fine. I'm 6 feet tall and it's way too low? I'm at lose as to what I can do. No website for the company either.
